2G/3G Coverage and Quality Tuning for Tigo via Reime
The project was named ‘’PROJECT ELEVATE’’ and the primary aim was to reduce interference and eliminate pilot pollution. For this project scope, we carried out cluster drive test for about 400 sites in the capital city of Accra, Ghana. Our deliverables which we provided were log files, analysis of the log files, report and recommendation for physical optimization and sector swap corrections.
Significant improvements were seen on TCH Drop from 1.0% to 0.6% which indicated better Retainability, quality and customer experience. Our physical optimizations helped in improved traffic balancing in some areas and hence good utilization of network resources.
Benchmark Drive for Ericsson
On this project, we performed drive tests for about 600 sites in the two largest cities of Ghana, Accra and Kumasi to ascertain coverage and quality of Airtel network against 4 other competitors’ networks (Vodafone, MTN, Tigo and Glo). We also proposed recommendations for physical optimization and implemented them as approved by the customer
LTE NW Tuning for Busy GH LTD
The scope of this project was for initial tuning, model tuning, coverage tuning, and quality improvement of 80 eNode Bs. After integration of the new sites, we carried out SSV drives test to ascertain the footprints/ coverage and did further tuning in terms of parameters, coverage and planning models
Customer complaints that came from the first days of site integration had reduced drastically and throughput had improved to about 25mbps on the downlink.
Drive Test and Tuning Activities for Network Merger in Tigo Airtel
The merger of Tigo and Airtel networks required that the RAN network be consolidated as well. The scope of this project undertaken by Opteez was for about 900 sites across all 10 regions of Ghana. We carried out pre and post migration cluster Drive test with analysis, reports and recommendation for physical optimization. These implementations were done and site re- driven to ensure coverage is not lost when one of either Tigo or Airtel site at the same location is shut down.
Field Maintenance for Surfline GH LTD
Maintenance Related Activities-Preventive and Corrective
The project is an ongoing one which involves 175 sites. We are performing full scope Preventive Maintenance and Daily Fault Resolutions of this site in Accra and Takoradi in Ghana. Daily trouble shooting of faults and alarms are on both Nokia and Huawei eNode B. These tasks are carried out in line with the agreed MTTR KPIs in the SLA.
Transmission Related Activities
Opteez Africa Ltd has also carried out Installation of dedicated transmission links for Enterprise customers. We have successfully implemented Microwave antenna decommissioning and commissioning of sites.
We have been involved with monitoring and resolutions of fluctuating MW links through MW antenna alignment and maintenance. Fibre links maintenance- fibre cut restoration, splicing etc.
Site Installation Activities
We have successfully completed the installation and commissioning of 12 sites (eNode Bs) in Accra
We have also done several TSS for new equipment installations

This project was similar in scope to what we executed with Tigo project above. 250 sites were involved.
